A study of fetal and maternal outcomes comparing buprenorphine and methadone exposure in pregnancy
US researchers have published a study investigating both maternal and fetal outcomes among women using buprenorphine or methadone for opioid use disorder in pregnancy. The results indicate a lower risk of adverse neonatal outcomes for buprenorphine exposed pregnancies while the risk of adverse maternal outcomes was similar among those using buprenorphine and methadone.
