Large, population-based cohort study finds no evidence that seasonal influenza vaccine is associated with major malformation

Researchers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Queen Mary University of London have analysed pseudonymised UK primary care data from the Clinical Practice Research Datalink to investigate malformation risks following seasonal influenza vaccination exposure in pregnancy. They found no evidence for an increased risk following exposure at any stage of pregnancy or in the first trimester specifically. More information can be found here.
