Large study provides further reassurance about topical corticosteroid use in pregnancy.
Researchers from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Copenhagen University Hospital have published a large population-based propensity score matched comparative cohort study which found no association between topical corticosteroid use in pregnancy and an increased risk of SGA or low birth weight. Their results also suggested that moderate to large increased risks were unlikely, even with use of large amounts of potent to very potent topical corticosteroids. More information can be found here.
