Several interesting studies have been published this week:
Researchers affiliated with the School of Public Health at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beer-Sheva, Israel have published an analysis of the Clalit Health Services insurance data investigating congenital malformation risks following first trimester papaverine use – see here.
An analysis of the French National Health Data System provides data on neurodevelopmental risks following in utero HIV and antiretroviral exposure – see here.
A large multi-national consortium have published a core outcome set for maternal and neonatal health research and surveillance of emerging and ongoing epidemic threats – see here.
The National Birth Defects Prevention Network (NBDPN), in collaboration with the US National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has provided a special issue of Birth Defects Research. Highlights include a case-control study of antifungal medication use (see here), an animal study investigating transgenerational behavioural and cognitive impairment in rats subjected to prenatal valproic acid (see here), an overview of the 2022 EUROCAT updated guidelines for classification of cases with congenital anomalies (see here).
