New study of maternal and infant infection risk following use of biologic medication in pregnancy

A small study by a group of researchers from Vancouver has investigated maternal and infant infection risks following the use of a biologic medication in pregnancy. After adjustment, the study findings did not describe any statistically significant increase in serious infection rate for either the exposed mothers or their in utero exposed infants (first year of life).
