Risk of autism spectrum disorder following maternal antiseizure medication use in pregnancy

A collaborative group of Brazilian researchers has published a systematic review and meta analysis of autism spectrum disorder risk following maternal antiseizure medication (ASM) use in pregnancy. The updated analysis provides pooled risk estimates for specific ASMs, demonstrating increased risks for carbamazepine, valproate and oxcarbazepine. More information can be found here.
