Sibling controlled cohort study finds no evidence for an increased risk of autism, ADHD or intellectual disability following paracetamol (acetaminophen) use in pregnancy

Researchers from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, have published a population-based cohort study examining the risks of autism, ADHD or intellectual disability following paracetamol (acetaminophen) use in pregnancy. No increased risks were identified in sibling control analyses, suggesting that associations observed in other models (i.e. non-sibling controlled) may have been attributable to confounding.
