Topiramate use in pregnancy associated with increased risks of autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability in the offspring
JAMA Neurology have recently published a population-based cohort study which used health and social register data from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden to investigate neurodevelopmental outcomes of children (up to age 8) exposed to antiseizure medications in pregnancy. Increased risks of autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability were observed for children exposed to topiramate in utero. More information can be found here.
